The Future of the Arctic Region: Cooperation or Confrontation?

In ‘The Future of the Arctic Region: Cooperation or Confrontation?’ the AIV contends that the government should formulate an Arctic strategy so that it can effectively defend Dutch interests in the Arctic, which is becoming increasingly significant as a result of climate change, geopolitical developments and economic opportunities. The AIV recommends establishing an interministerial committee on Arctic affairs and believes that the EU should also start playing a greater role in the region.
